It’s always nice to do something different over the school holidays, have a nice day out and some quality time together. Easter is one of our favourite school holidays and so I thought I’d put together some ideas of things to do over Easter, like Easter events in Surrey, day out ideas and Easter trails in Surrey.
When are the school holidays at Easter in Surrey?
The Surrey school holidays this Easter run from 3rd April 2023 to 16th April 2023. Easter Monday is in the middle of the holidays this year, on Monday 10th April. However, friends in neighbouring counties often have different school holiday dates.
You can check the Surrey County Council term dates for the current academic year here and it’s best to check your school website too in case there are any inconsistencies with the spring term or at any other point through the year.

The Lindt Gold Bunny hunt is back at Hampton Court Palace this Easter! Find the Lindt Gold Bunny whilst you discover the stories of fascinating people who visited, lived and worked at Hampton Court Palace.

Albury Vineyard
Easter Trail – 7th, 8th and 10th April – 11am – 4pm – Silent Pool, Shere Road, Albury, Surrey GU5 9BW
Enjoy a self guided vineyard tour this Easter. With stunning views over the Surrey Hills and a great opportunity to find out more about English wine! The kids will love the Easter themed trail and they get a chocolate treat at the end too. Dogs on leads welcome.

Easter Activities in Surrey
Wherever you are in Surrey, there’s bound to be somewhere nearby with organised activities to keep your children entertained over the holidays. Here are a few suggestions of things to do in the Easter holidays in Surrey:
Squires Garden Centre

Plant three colourful plants in a wicker basket decorated with a raffia bow, to create a lovely Easter gift or place in your garden.

Afternoon Tea
If you fancy going for afternoon tea as an Easter treat there are plenty of places to choose from and these guides may help you find somewhere perfect!
Painshill Park also have a special Easter Dragon Themed Afternoon Tea which runs from 2nd to 14th April.

Funfairs
Hampton Court Fun Fair – 5 April 2023 to 10 April 2023
The annual Hampton Court Funfair is crammed with family fun, with so many children’s rides, traditional games and stalls, a wonderful carousel and even a ferris wheel. It’s a real tradition that has entertained families through generations for over 150 years.

Days Out with Easter Activities in Surrey
Bocketts Farm
Easter Eggstravaganza – 1 April 2023 – 16 April 2023 – Young Street, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 9BS
Getting right into spring on Bocketts Farm. With hundreds of gorgeous baby lambs due, meet chicks and bunnies in Small Animal Encounters sessions, explore acres of outdoor play, enjoy the Tractor and Trailer Ride, get creative in Craft Corner, watch live shows in the Easter garden and there’s even a Spring Trail to complete with chocolate treats at the end.

Brooklands Museum
Ready to Race – 1 April 2023 – 16 April 2023 – Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0SL
This Easter get your overalls on and step into a workshop to explore the science behind speed. Join the pit-crew for a fun and hands-on session and have a go at getting a car ready to race at Brooklands. There will also be running vintage car rides, pedal planes and cars, family-friendly Concorde Mini-Tours and London Bus Museum will be running bus rides around the local area.

Cinemas in Surrey
Most cinemas have reduced tickets at weekends and in school holidays, a great budget activity that the whole family can enjoy together
Vue – Mini Mornings – Camberley – Croydon – Staines
At Vue’s Mini Mornings you can see the best kids and family films from only £2.49 each. Mini Mornings run every Saturday and Sunday morning from 10am plus every day in the school holidays.
Odeon – Odeon Kids – Kingston – Epsom – Guildford
With special Odeon Kids screenings of the most spellbinding fairy tales and animated films, grown-ups pay kids’ ticket prices, making it a great value day out for the whole family.
There are many other cinemas in Surrey – Everyman, Empire and Harlequin to name a few, but they all seem to have the same ticket prices and offerings during school holidays.
Holiday Clubs in Surrey
If you need to work over the holidays and need childcare then holiday clubs are a really popular idea – and there are so many across Surrey that you’re bound to find one perfect for your children that’s close to where you live or work.
