This year Mother’s Day is on Sunday 15th March 2026 and I know it’s something that people start planning and thinking about weeks before. Whether you want to buy your mum the perfect gift or organise a day out to spoil her, it’s bound to be an important day on your calendar.

I thought it would be helpful to put together options of things to do for the Mother’s Day weekend in case you’re stuck for inspiration. From the cheap and cheerful to the extravagant, here’s a whole host of ideas for you including any special Mothers Day events across London too.
Things to do for Mother’s Day in London

London Walks
It’s always nice to just go out and get some fresh air and so a walk could be a lovely way to spend a chunk of Mothers Day. One of our favourite things to do is simply walk along the South Bank and appreciate the views, the street food and the attractions we see along the way. There’s also the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk which takes you through some beautiful parts of London and you can find more inspiration for family walks in London here.

Days Out in London
If you’re looking for more than just a walk, a full day out could be just the thing. The Tower of London, London Zoo and the Cutty Sark and other Greenwich Museums are all great choices, all with tea rooms and plenty to see and do.

Cinemas in London
Going to a cinema could be another nice option and a really relaxed way to spend Mother’s Day. There are new films being released all the time and our top pick for Mothers Day would be Wuthering Heights, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man and Project Hail Mary. I can’t wait to see them!

Spa Treats in London
Going on spa days is such a lovely way to celebrate Mothers Day and treat mum, plus we have so many great spas across London. From the wonderful ESPA Life at Corinthia and Como Shambhala at the Park Lane Metropolitan hotel to The Savoy and The Porchester Spa. There are so many wonderful spa experiences available across London.

You could always extend the treat by making it into a spa break, adding a hotel room and dinner to the experience. Or, alternatively, you may just want a lovely treatment together without making a full day or break of it. In this case, The Massage Company have locations in Canning Town, Ealing, Harrow, Putney and further afield. Plus, they offer fantastic massage packages for two as well.
