There are so many parks and playgrounds in London and often you can completely miss them if you don’t know they’re there. But, if you’re in London with kids it’s great to factor in play stops wherever you can to give them time to let off steam and have some fun.

We love going to London and always squeeze in a trip to a museum or two whilst we are there. Many people avoid museums with children but we’ve found that pretty much any museum trip can be tailored to a child’s age and attention span and there are so many London museums to explore and enjoy as a family.
Visiting the National Gallery London with Kids
When we were in London for February half term we took the children on a whistlestop trip to the National Gallery. I wasn’t sure whether it would be suitable for kids but it ended up being a really lovely place to spend time and a great way to avoid bad weather too!

Princess Diana Memorial Playground – Kensington Gardens, London
Despite the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground being open for over 20 years, we only made our first visit on a little break to London in the summer holidays. We only had ten minutes to spare, before our booking to Kensington Palace, but we promised the children we’d go back as soon as we could. At that time came at the start of September.

When we went to London over the summer one thing the children wanted to do but we didn’t quite have the time was a trip on the Serpentine Hyde Park with Bluebird Boats. So, when we found ourselves back in London at the start of September we made a pedalo experience top of our list of things to do.
A Picnic at Buckingham Palace Garden – London
This summer, Buckingham Palace opened their gardens for the first time to allow visitors to have a picnic on the lawn of the most famous palace in the world. We’ve never been to Buckingham Palace, only ever seeing it through the gates. So, as soon as I saw that tickets were released I booked them – and couldn’t wait to visit.
