When you go to Orlando on holiday your days are instantly filled with theme parks, swimming, shopping and so many great restaurant and snack options. But, how do you spend your evenings in Orlando? I thought it would be good to put together ideas of things you can do after youโ€™ve eaten dinner, ways to end the day in Orlando in style across Orlando and the Central Florida region.

I was talking to friends about what time this article should cover and we said from around 7pm onwards, a time when you can go out as a couple, go out with friends or even take the kids out. There will be some later options and some earlier to make sure there are things for all ages to do.

If you have Disney tickets, there are so many free shows that you can see in the evening across the Walt Disney World Resort. These are some of the highlights of our time in Florida and no Orlando vacation is complete without seeing the fireworks over the castle!

Plus, there are also special paid events at the Walt Disney parks. These are after hours events, opening to guests at any extra cost when day visitors have left the park. They are unlike anything else you will experience at Disney and everyone who attends absolutely raves about them.

Evening shows at Universal Resort

Just like Disney World, Universal has great evening entertainment you can make the most of when you have tickets to the parks plus fantastic ticketed special events throughout the year.

Here are some of the free events that are on across the Universal Orlando Resort:

  • CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular at Universal Studios Florida – Selected dates throughout the year at park closing time.
  • Hogwarts Always at Universal Islands of Adventure – Selected dates throughout the year, continuous from dusk to park closing time.

Much like Disney Springs, Universalโ€™s CityWalk is a fantastic place to spend an evening. There are so many top name restaurants, so much entertainment and just loads to see and do. It’s no wonder that it’s billed as the Epicenter of Awesome! Here’s some of the evening entertainment on offer:

Visit ICON Park

ICON Park is a fantastic destination, situated on International Drive so itโ€™s easily accessible wherever youโ€™re staying in Orlando and is full of evening entertainment options: As well as plenty of bars and restaurants, here are some of the evening activities on offer at ICON Park:

  • The Orlando Eye โ€“ An incredible 400ft tall observation wheel open until at least 8pm, 11pm at weekends.
  • Madame Tussauds Orlando โ€“ Open until 8/9pm throughout the week.
  • SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium โ€“ Open until 7/8pm throughout the week.
  • Museum of Illusions โ€“ Open until at least 7pm, 9pm on weekends.
  • Max Action Arena โ€“ Open until 10/11/pm throughout the week.

  • 7D Theatre – Open until 11pm/midnight throughout the week.

Visit Lake Eola Park

We loved visiting Lake Eola Park. It’s a little slice of tranquility in Downtown Orlando, not far from the hustle and bustle of Orlando. Although we visited in the day time, walked through the farmers market and rented a swan boat pedalo, there are evening events on at the park throughout the year. Visit Old Town Kissimmee

At Ripleyโ€™s you can marvel at hundreds of rare and unusual artifacts and get hands-on with unbelievable interactive exhibits. Thereโ€™s a genuine shrunken head, many extraordinary people, and dozens of animal oddities too. Such a weird but wonderful way to spend an evening as it’s open until 9pm each day.

The Main Event entertainment centre is a haven for families to share a variety of activities all under one very big roof! Itโ€™s an entertainment centre that focuses on helping families to make memories and have quality time together. Some of the activities on offer are laser tag, gravity ropes, arcade games, billiards, bowling and more. Plus, it’s open until midnight every day of the week!

ICEBAR Orlando is the most popular year-round ice bar in the world! In addition to spectacular ice sculptures, everything from the seating to your shot glass is made of hand-carved ice. After chilling at the ICEBAR, warm up in the Fire Lounge with fresh signature cocktails, a mouth-watering menu, nightly specials, live DJs, and VIP bottle service. Open until at least midnight daily.

The Worldโ€™s Largest Entertainment McDonaldโ€™s, also known as Epic McD, is 19,000 square feet of McDonalds awesomeness, making it the largest McDonaldโ€™s in the world by square footage. It has menus with options that are exclusive to the restaurant and cannot be found elsewhere like pizza, pasta and so many customisable options and is open 24 hours a day!

Getting more and more popular as time passes, ghost tours are a great, different activity to do for a birthday or any other occasion.
