A Summer of Adventures

Before the summer started I had in my head that it was the countdown to LP starting school, our last summer of the baby days. It gave me a burst of enthusiasm for doing as much as possible, for cramming in adventures and for taking the opportunity to meet up with people who we don’t get to see during term time.

This summer we have done so much. We bought our Legoland annual passes and have already been twice – once for LP’s Birthday.  We also got National Trust passes and have visited so many properties – Tyntesfield, The Vyne, Cliveden, Greys Court and others that I probably can’t remember. We also went to Highclere Castle and visited the home of Downton Abbey, we had a weekend in Hampshire and went to Marwell Zoo, Manor Farm and Country Park and had an overnight stay at the Marwell Hotel.

We had another overnight stay at Lorne House in Bath and met up with friends whose baby was due the following week – and then met that beautiful baby girl later in the summer. We went and saw Amy at The Living Rainforest, Katie at the coast, our lovely friend Lauren in Somerset, had a day at Ikea with a lovely friend too and had a play date with Lucy and her gorgeous Bert – as well as meeting up with lots of bloggers for the Living Arrow Picnic!

It’s also been a summer of getting things done – building a garden play area for the kids, finishing Little Man’s bedroom and finally getting a radiator cover made for the hall to finish that off too. We’ve also spent a chunk of the summer planning our new bathroom for September and I can’t wait for it to be done! We’ve also had garden days, barbecues and lots of time just loving being at home.

A Summer of Adventures

The summer has come to a close with a beautiful girl’s Christening, LP’s 4th Birthday as well as her party, and getting ready for school starting very soon. Dave and I didn’t have much time off work this summer, just a couple of days for LP’s Birthday, but the rest of the time we crammed in as much as possible and it’s definitely been a summer to remember.
