A Very Special Blogger Picnic
Last Thursday I was invited to something lovely. A picnic with a bunch of bloggers that I had got to know over the last couple of years. Unlike other blog ‘events’ it wasn’t to promote a brand or any kind of PR exercise, this was just bloggers wanting to meet up and spend time together and introduce all the children and although the weather wasn’t the best we really had one of the best of days.
I picked Sian and her little boy H up en route and we got to Rushmere Country Park just after eleven where we met Hayley, Kara, Emma, Emma, Lucy and her lovely sister. It was great to get everyone in one place, throw down the picnic rugs and let the kids do what kids do – sing, climb, collect sticks and just play. It was a bit surreal having LP and Little Man playing with kids I had only seen online before and other who are good friends of theirs – little Bert and Hayley’s gorgeous girl.
When it started to rain we went for an adventure in the forest. LP and Little Man walked for miles and adventured with their new pals. I loved chatting to the other adults and really appreciated the age that the kids are – happy to wander and look at things and not needing a huge amount of direction from me – until the walk back when their legs were tired!
It was a really lovely day and I really enjoyed having a catch up with blogging pals. I love the social side of having this blog and really appreciate Hayley organising the Living Arrows picnic – in honour of the photos we take each week – and I really loved meeting new people too – Anwyn, Mary and Donna – there’s never another Donna anywhere so this was a bit of a novelty for me! hehe.
I can’t wait for the next blogger social. I always love catching up with online friends and it really doesn’t happen often enough. Sorry for the photo spam but it was just the loveliest day!
Ah this is so lovely Donna, I wish we could have made it! Such lovely photos and I recognise a few of the kids from blogs 🙂 It must be so lovely to meet up just for a catch up, sounds lovely and relaxed and I’m glad you had such a good time xx
It was so lovely to see all the kids get on and play. Wish we could have stayed longer but we must do it again soon xx
We really must! Probably in the next school holidays. If we could do every school holidays it would be amazing! x
It looks like everyone had such a lovely day. We were gutted it was a week day as we both work full time. But hopefully we’ll make the next one.
So lovely to see the pictures, there was a great turn out. Wish we could have been there, but it just wasn’t to be! 🙁
What a wonderful picnic 🙂 I do love a good Blogger meet up! Copious amounts of photos and no one bats an eyelid that you’re on your phone 🙂 xx
Ha ha, if you’d not got that horrendous photo of me, it’s like N wasn’t there! He’s always refusing to be in group photos. One day, he’ll shock me and want to be right int he middle!
It was a lovely day, and nice to be able to have proper chats with people rather than the grabbed time at conferences.
We had a fab day, Bert was in his a element! Haha I love that I’m getting my flask of tea out in the top picture: priorities!! 🙂 xxx
This looks like so much fun – I would love to be able to hang out with you in real life, and lots of other bloggers too! Maybe when we move back to England and the kids are bigger things might be a bit easier!
It looks like you all had such a fun day. I wish I could have made it.
