National Trust Days Out in Hampshire
We’ve had National Trust membership for years now and National Trust sites are always one of the first places we look at when planning a family day out. There aren’t that many National Trust days out in Hampshire but they are still some of our favourites in the South East and places that we go to as often as we can.
So here are our favourite Hampshire National Trust days out:
Hinton Ampner National Trust โ near Alresford, Hampshire SO24 0LA
Hinton Ampner is an elegant country house with beautiful, tranquil gardens. A fire devastated the house in 1960 and was lovingly rebuilt by its last owner. Now, you can explore the homely rooms of Hinton Ampner or stroll along the manicured lawns, admiring the topiary. There’s a lovely cafe, dogs are welcome in the gardens and there are trails for children to complete around the house and gardens.

Mottisfont National Trust โ near Romsey, Hampshire SO51 0LP
Mottisfont is a really gorgeous 18th century house and gallery set in beautiful riverside gardens full of ancient trees, babbling brooks and rolling lawns. Thereโs so much space to run, jump and play with so many activities and events for families to do too – the wild play areas are fantastic. There are two cafes as well as space for picnics and dogs are welcome. They even have a specially planted winter garden, inviting people to visit all year round.

The Vyne National Trust โ Vyne Road, Sherborne St John, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG24 9HL
The Vyne began life as a Tudor powerhouse which became a 17th century family home. It’s set in gardens, woodlands and wetlands which are fantastic for families to explore. There’s a lovely cafe, the grounds are dog friendly and there’s a fantastic play area too.
