Strawberry Vanilla Crumble Recipe

Each year we grow so many juicy strawberries in the garden that it’s hard to know what to do with them. But, a favourite dessert for the whole family is crumble – whatever the weather. Making an easy strawberry crumble made complete sense and although I love it with custard you could serve it with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream instead for a really summery feel. It’s such a lovely strawberry dessert and one the whole family really enjoy.

How can you vary this strawberry crumble recipe?

Although we use caster sugar for this easy fruit recipe it would be just as nice with light brown sugar or granulated sugar. To make a healthy strawberry crumble you could leave the sugar out and just appreciate the natural sweetness of the strawberries.

You could try this recipe using frozen strawberries instead of fresh strawberries but it will end up being a little wetter than you’d expect with a traditional crumble.

If you’re looking for alternative recipes to try why not give our oaty rhubarb crumble, plum crumble or nectarine crumble a try? A strawberry rhubarb crumble is next on my list to try! You can see all our recipes to date here.
