As a family we love pancakes. We make them pretty much any weekend we’re at home and although we love classic lemon and sugar pancakes we do love to try new things and be a little creative with the pancakes we make.

We reviewed an Aldi Ambiano Omelette Maker a few years ago and it’s still one of the most popular posts on this website and one of our handiest small kitchen appliances we’ve ever used. You can see the double omelette maker review here. Non stick omelette makers are so easy to use with non stick plates, they’re easy clean and so quick at making perfectly fluffy omelettes.

But, I get asked regularly what our favourite folding omelette maker recipes are. The answer is simple – any omelettes that you’ve usually made in a frying pan will work in an omelet maker. So, the options when it comes to cooking fluffy omelettes at home are limitless. It’s so easy to create the perfect omelette – especially with the non stick coating. No butter, oil or cooking spray needed and easy clean cooking. There’s no easier way to make perfectly cooked omelettes.

With school age children most parents will become familiar with packed lunches. Even with free school meals on offer until Year 3, there are days when Little Man has to take a packed lunch to school or just prefers the variety that a packed lunch brings. LP is the same, seeing a packed lunch as such a novelty.

It’s no secret that pigs in blankets are pretty much the most important part of our Christmas dinner and they are something I look forward to throughout the year. We often have them as part of a buffet during the festive season and always make sure we cook a few too many to snack on or have in festive leftover sandwiches too.

I love pudding and I love ice cream although I have only ever eaten ice cream from the tub, a cone or a bowl – nothing adventurous! The most adventurous would probably be ice cream sandwiches with a layer of peanut butter and fudge sauce! So I thought I would make ice cream cakes. This recipe I just threw together but I will be doing variations in the future – it’s pretty good!

It’s that time of year where all thoughts turn to Christmas day and the family roast Christmas dinner is one of the main aspects of the day that needs planning, preparing and organising down to the finest details.

For us though, we have got Christmas dinner down to a tee. We have the same roast dinner every year – a turkey crown and all the trimmings including pigs in blankets.

As a busy family we love finding easy family meal options that are quick to prepare, nutritious and full of flavour that we can all enjoy in the evening without having to always resort to our slow cooker or Instant Pot. In the past we’ve used HelloFresh, delivering us all we need to cook family meals in one handy box each week. One of the things that I’ve always appreciated with HelloFresh is the ability to keep the family dinner recipes after we’d made them from the box, creating them again at a later date. HelloFresh also have a bank of healthy dinner recipes on their website and we’ve created a favourite chicken pasta recipe based on the HelloFresh Venetian Pasta recipe from their website.

Chocolate Cookie Parfait Recipe

Recipe: Chocolate Cookie Parfait

We love dessert in our house and this is one of our favourite desserts to make. It’s quite simple, doesn’t take too long and can literally be thrown together. It’s a great alternative to ice cream or cake.

The children really enjoy it too and you can amend the recipe easily to change flavours too by using things like mint chocolate or caramel sauce, a different flavour chocolate spread or orange essence instead of vanilla.
