One of our favourite slow cooker meals will always be a delicious curry. Often we just buy jars of sauce, throw it in the slow cooker with meat and some veg and let it work it’s magic for an easy dinner. But, at other times, there’s nothing quite like making your own homemade curry from scratch. And Rogan Josh is one of our family favourites.
I shared our Slow Cooker Lamb Rogan Josh recipe years ago and it’s taken me awhile to put the Rogan Josh with Beef alternative together – but it’s worth waiting for. This curry is so full of flavour and a recipe that the whole family really enjoy. It’s one of our favourite slow cooker recipes.
This slow cooker beef curry uses so many spices and there’s not a rogan josh curry paste or ready made sauce in sight. It’s lovely and authentic plus, as the curry is slow cooked the slow cooking process allows tge spices and flavours to really mature too. It’s a really lovely dish.
How do you serve this Rogan Josh curry?
We serve this indian style beef and tomato curry simply with basmati rice, poppadoms and naan bread. You could also add some Indian side dishes if you wanted like samosas or bhajis, something we love to add as a treat on occasion. We also always have a raita yogurt dip on the side in case we’ve gone too mad on the spice mix although this dish is a nice medium curry, not too hot at all.
