One New Change Roof Terrace

We are gradually working through the free viewing platforms of London and, on a visit to London in the Easter holidays, we made it to the One New Change Roof Terrace. We first heard about One New Change when we went to the Sky Garden last summer and it was nice to visit somewhere new.
Where is the One New Change Roof Terrace?
The One New Change Roof Terrace is on top of the One New Change building, a shopping and entertainment hub in the City of London. It has fantastic transport links and sits a stones throw from St Paul’s Cathedral, making it a great addition to any day out in London.

The One New Change Roof Terrace is a roof terrace and viewing platform. It gives fantastic views of St Paul’s and the London skyline, letting you see London from a whole new perspective.
Our visit to the One New Change Roof Terrace
Visiting the One New Change Roof Terrace was unlike the other viewing platform experiences we’ve had. For a start, the entrance isn’t very well signposted. Instead you go to the main elevators in One New Change where you’ll find them being guarded by staff. You ask to go up to the roof terrace and they call the lift for you.
Also, there is no security process to work through. We are so used to going through airport style security to access viewing platforms – and a lot of the historic buildings in London – that not having that security process felt a little odd.
Having said that, it meant we were on the roof within moments. The lift is glass sided and gives great views of St Pauls on the journey. Once you reach the top – which doesn’t take long as it’s only six floors – you follow signs around the corner to the Public Roof Terrace.
The roof terrace leads along the top of the building, giving the best views of St Paul’s Cathedral that we have ever seen as well as so much more of the London skyline – the London Eye, the Shard and everything in between!
All along the rood there are planters and places to sit, making it a lovely place to relax and spend time. The views of St Paul’s will never get boring and it’s a great place to break up a trip to London, letting you take a load off whilst enjoying the views.
Refreshments at the One New Change Roof Terrace
The One New Change Roof Terrace is home to Madison’s Restaurant and Bar, perfect for lunch or a drink whilst admiring the view. There’s also plenty of seating to admire the view or enjoy a picnic – with the only restriction being that glass bottles aren’t allowed on the roof terrace at any point.
We spent a really nice hour at the One New Change Roof Terrace. It broke up our day nicely and was a great addition to our little mini break in London. We’d definitely visit again in the future.
