Me & Mine {October 2017}

Oh this month has just been full on autumn. We have had days out, mixed weather and there have been so many leaves on the ground. It’s been pretty lovely. Yes, there have been rainy days, there have been winds and grey skies but there have also been dry spells and sunshine. Some days have even been t-shirt weather – it has been like every season this month but it has been so, so lovely.

This month has all been about getting more of the house sorted – putting together our bedroom and organising more storage around the house. But, amongst the house jobs we’ve had so many days out – trips to Packwood House, a failed trip to a non-existent pumpkin patch that we enjoyed anyway, Claremont Landscape Gardens, Wellington Country Park, a trip to Legoland to see the fireworks and so many birthdays and parties – my birthday included.

We finished the month with half term, a lovely, busy week full of days out, family time and simple fun. It was so nice to have the children at home for a week and they really needed the break from school and a rest. We spent half the week being busy and having days out and the other half I was busy working whilst the children had a slower pace and spent days in their PJs!

And now October is over. My favourite month, done for another year. But now we get to embrace the run up to Christmas, get back into the swing of school and get ready for the winter. I’m looking forward to a month of wrapping up warm, wearing boots and thick coats and having plenty of snuggly evenings with movies and hot chocolate.

Thanks October, you have been as lovely as ever.

  1. I do agree with you on the warm clothes. I like wearing Summer clothes but winter clothes are something I am loving too. Especially in the run up to Christmas when you can hide the little of weight you put on lol #meandmine

  2. It’s interesting you are the second person who has said they love October, September is my favourite month, but yet autumn months aren’t generally popular choices… Someone I know has a theory that favourite months relate to when we are born, my birthday is August so not far off my favourite month, but I can’t remember when yours is?!

  3. I love this the kids must be getting excited for the holidays ahead. Love that you love Autumn and read your comment above it’s your near your birthday. Sadly my favorite month is August because I am in hot america but my birthday is boxing day hahahah guess the theory doesn’t work with me. So many love layering up in winter but I am more a tanktop and short or summer dress bare feet ALL THE WAY! LOL Sounds like you have had a busy month as always lovely capture. #meandmineproject
