Me & Mine {February 2016}

This month has been a really lovely month for us as a family. We usually get a day or two together each month around shift work and school but this month we had a holiday – an actual holiday that was nothing like the last one we had. It was such great quality family time with days out, laughter and relaxing together – as well as seeing friends and making plans.

The week was so full of adventures that it was exhausting. 9 days of long car journeys, seeing countless friends, having sleepovers, holiday accommodation and a hotel stay before getting home again – where our washing machine broke! It was 9 days of feeling tired but loving every minute of it. We ate too much, laughed a lot and had the best of times.

This month’s photo was taken laying on the bed in our holiday lodge, being silly in the reflection in the mirrored wardrobe doors and having fun before bedtime. It’s a grainy photo, with that typical indoor, artificial light glow. But I love it anyway. The children slept in twin beds pushed together and loved sharing a big bed all holiday. We loved their closeness and the whole holiday was a pleasure just seeing them spend such great times together.

February has been a month of cold weather, wrapping up warm and spending quite a lot of time snuggling, watching movies and hibernating. But it has also been full of pancakes, time together and time with friends. February – you have been a pretty awesome month! Thanks for having us – and here’s to March!
