10 Incredible Years

Today is 10 years since Dave and I met – you can read all about that here. I actually cannot believe ten years have passed – It feels like we have been together for my whole life and really we have – The majority of my adult life at least.

The last ten years have been eventful. We have moved house twice – Buying our first home and selling it to buy our forever home. We have been on holidays – more holidays than I ever hoped to have had – Dominican Republic, Egypt, Tunisia, Paris, Rome, Mexico, Las Vegas. We have holidayed in the UK too and fallen in love with Cornwall repeatedly.

We have gone from being a couple to being a family – First with cats and then with our beautiful LP and then Little Man – Our family complete. We went from being young and single to being engaged, to married, to a young family all over the last ten years. We have now been married five years and it really does feel like yesterday that we said our vows.

Ten years! When I first met David I had no idea what the future would hold. To be honest, I was a mess. But David came into my life and everything was suddenly ok. He was perfect for me and I loved him from the start. We may be ten years older with marriage and children under our belts but I still love David as much as I did back then – If not more. He understands me, puts up with my moods and lives with my quirks. I love that he makes me laugh even when I’m crying, that he holds my hand and that he gives me a hug – just because. I love that he’s given me two amazing children and that he works so hard for our family. But mostly, I love that he’s my best friend. That he know everything about me and loves me despite it all, because of it all. He loves me because I’m me.

Happy 10 years David. I wonder what the next 10 years will bring?

  1. Aw happy 10 years! We will have been together for 10 years next week and it really does feel like a lifetime yet also no time at all. Here’s to many more years! xx

  2. Ahhhh, congratulations on 10 years together. Such a lovely post. And I find it so funny how similar we are (10 years together, married 5, cats first, then babies, a couple of house moves together) but I reckon we’ve got it pretty good, don’t you! x
