5 Incredibly Happy Years

Dave and I have been married for 5 years today. At 1pm on 29th May 2009 Dave and I got married in a beautiful little church in Sandhurst, Berkshire. It was, and I’m sure always will be, the best  day of my life.

5 Incredibly Happy Years

The last 5 years have flown by, they have been a blur of moving house, paying off debts, having babies and working hard but overall they have been five years of love, laughter and happy times. I won’t say it’s perfect all the time – Life with two small children can be testing at the best of times and Dave’s shiftwork can be hard too but when the day is over and the children are in bed there is just one person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night – That has always been Dave and always will be.

When Dave and I got married I told him we’d renew our vows in 25 years – Go back to our reception venue, have the service there and a big party with our friends and family. Celebrate not just our wedding days but 25 years of marriage. To think, we are already a fifth of the way there! I don’t know where the last five years have gone. It really feels like yesterday I walked down the aisle with my Dad and fought to get my vows out before my voice cracked with emotion.

Happy 5 years Dave. You’re my best friend, you make me laugh and I love you more as the years go by. Thank you for sharing life with me.
