Siblings {May 2017}

This month has been so, so lovely. When I posted last month’s Siblings post we were on our way back from holiday in Mallorca and I didn’t really think that the month could get any better than that. But, the month has continued to surprise us.

Siblings {May 2017}

We have had such a busy month, with a Day Out With Thomas a couple of days after we flew home – which the children absolutely loved. Little Man is Thomas crazy and so this was his dream day out – especially after our visit last summer.

We also had a weekend in London and had a more relaxed weekend of doing jobs at home and visiting National Trust properties where we managed to take some photos surrounded by bluebells before they all disappeared – not the aim of our day out but part that the children loved.

But, the last month has finished off with Little Man’s birthday. He turned four last Wednesday and had not one but two parties – soft play after school with his school friends and then a family barbecue and bouncy castle yesterday. I can’t quite get my head around the fact my youngest child is now four but, each year that goes by and the children grow their relationship grows too.

They get closer as each year goes by and the age gap has now almost disappeared – and unless you know them well you would probably think they were much closer in age – and we still get asked if they’re twins most days that we all go out together.

I now have three and a half months of having a four and a five year old, both wearing age four clothes, sharing everything and being just so close. Looking at LP and Little Man I feel like I have accomplished something, made something priceless and created something built to last. I really hope that in five, ten or twenty years they are as close as they are now. I know in time they’ll grow out of sleepovers, that they’ll make other friends and they’ll be at different schools for periods too but I hope that the bond that have been building over the last four years stays with them, always bringing them back together again at those times where life gets in the way.

These Siblings in May have been pretty perfect to be around, and pretty lovely to watch. I’m now looking forward to June with them too.
