LP and Little Man both loved Peppa Pig for years but where LP has moved on to new interests, Little Man still asks to watch Peppa Pig on the TV and finds the show hilarious, loving George and his dinosaur. So when we were sent Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse to review I knew Little Man would love it – even if he’s probably not the typical Peppa Pig fan.

Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse arrived in a quite compact but heavy box – ready to be put together. It came with clear instructions and took about half an hour to construct and all I needed was a screwdriver. It also came with fixings to secure it to a wall for safety as well, something I really appreciated being in the box.

The playhouse also came with a whole box of accessories – 25 items to furnish the house including Peppa and George figures. Little Man was slightly disappointed though that despite Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig being shown on the box they aren’t included in the playset.

The finished house is really sturdy and looks just like it does in the show. Each room is full of colour and has plenty of accessories to act out a child’s favourite Peppa episode or their own stories. It even comes with Mummy Pig’s telescope and lots of interactive parts – an oven that makes sounds, a light up hob and a table and lamp that play Peppa and George relaxing bedtime music.

Little Man loves that there are windows to peer through in the house, doors for Peppa and George to walk through and even a balcony for them to look over. He did comment on the lack of real stairs but was happy enough with the cartoon ones on the wall!

The living room includes a mobile phone holder – so you can use a mobile phone as a TV for Peppa and George to watch. I didn’t really understand this – as not many Peppa fans have their own phones – and so it’s not something Little Man has used but he has had so much fun without it anyway.

Any Peppa fan would love this playhouse as it’s so like the house on the show and a great way of letting children use their imagination and act out stories. It’s a great size at 75cm tall and would make a really substantial gift at any time of the year. It isn’t the most well made playhouse we have ever had and it has shown signs of wear even before it was first played with. That aside, it really is a toy that would be well received by any Peppa loving child and I know Little Man will be playing with it until his love of Peppa fades – which we can’t see happening for a long time to come.
