Me & Mine {April 2018}

Oh what a month it has been! We have been so busy and the weather has been mostly awful but the sun has shown itself a few times – and I’m looking forward to a brighter May and the real start of spring and summer.

April started with us going to Wales for the week where we spent the first half of the Easter holidays with our lovely friends from Mental Parentals. We saw all four seasons in weather but we got out on some lovely days out – to Ty Mawr Country Park, Chester Zoo, Llandudno and so many other places. The week went past far too quickly.

We then drove to Manchester for a brief stay where we packed so much in – Chill Factore, Legoland Discovery Centre, Sea Life Manchester and even a wander around the Trafford Centre. It was a lovely but short trip and it’s made me want to visit Manchester again as a family as soon as possible.

Then the children and I drove to Devon for a week with our lovely friends at Crealy Adventure Park where we stayed in a glamping tent – and where the children had their very first experience of camping. It was a really great week – even though Little Man got chicken pox halfway through.

When we came home and I swanned off to Somerset for the Flea Retreat – the nicest weekend I have had in ages and just what I needed. They’ve just announced that it will be an annual event and I cannot wait for the next one.

We finished the month with a weekend at Alton Towers and are now pretty exhausted. I would say that May will be a quieter month but it really won’t – I have a conference, it’s Little Man’s birthday and we have another half term to look forward to. So May will be just as busy as April by all counts – but it’s been a great month really.
