The children love sausages and I love an easy slow cooker meal which has made this one of our favourite family slow cooker recipes. You can’t beat an easy sausage pasta and this one is ready when you are. It’s so easy to cook and works well even with the cheapest of sausages.
The chilli flakes give the meal a little spicy kick without being overpowering and the sausages take on all the flavours from the sauce. It freezes well and is great for cooking in bulk.
What sausages should I use in the Slow Cooker Sausage Tagliatelle tomato pasta?
You can also throw in any vegetables you have to hand or even a handful of olives and can use pork sausages, Italian sausages, chicken sausages or even vegetarian sausages or Quorn sausages if you like. Chunks of sausage meat would also work well and add a new texture to this dish.
Although this is an Italian sausage pasta recipe we serve the pasta sauce with any kind of pasta – tagliatelle, spaghetti, penne – any pasta works well and it also goes well with rice or crusty bread too. Top with grated parmesan and serve! We love this with tagliatelle, a spicy sausage tagliatelle dish always goes down well in our house.
How about a pasta bake instead?
You could easily make this meal into a sausage pasta bake. Once the sausages have been sliced, mix in cooked pasta, top with cheese and place under the grill until nicely golden brown on top. You could even make a creamy sausage pasta bake by stirring some creme fraiche in at the same time as the pasta. What a great one pot meal!
