Sibling {October 2015}

The last month has been spent fully with LP at school. Our first whole month of LP at school and the rest of us looking forward to picking her up at the end of the day and the weekends together.

Little Man is very much used to the school run now – waving his sister off in the morning and picking her up in the afternoon. By the time we pick her up he is very much ready to be reunited again although he loves the one on one time he gets during the day too.

LP loves going to school too. She has fun, spends time with her friends and gets to do new things like PE and eating lunch with her school chums instead of us. It’s still new and exciting for her but she loves us picking her up at the end of the day too – by that point she’s ready to come home.

LP and Little Man love each other. That goes without saying really. This month though has been one of public displays of affection, LP and Little Man hugging and kissing each other at random times and holding hands when they’re walking together. Rather than just knowing they love each other they’re now showing that they love each other and it really is one of the loveliest things to see.

LP and Little Man kiss and hug to say good bye at school drop off, to say hello at pickup and to say goodnight before bed. It’s a constant thing and something so natural. I hope that as the years go by LP and Little Man continue to love each other as much as they do now, to hug, to be there for each other and to be friends as well as siblings.

The relationship they have is a really special thing and I love watching it grow as the months go by. Our first full month of school and it’s great to see that absence really does make the heart grow fonder.
