I saw this idea a few years ago but because Dave and I don’t really ‘do’ Halloween I have never had a chance to put it into practice! But this year LP is learning about Halloween at school and so there is no escaping it!

Healthy Halloween Jelly Oranges Recipe

I thought I would make her the Halloween Jelly Oranges as part of our cute ideas for healthy Halloween recipes to make at home. I know, it’s not quite pumpkin pie but it’s still pretty fun for Halloween and using sugar free healthy jelly makes them lovely treats for children to balance out the sugar and a great alternative to gummy worms and chocolate!

Can you really make healthy Halloween food?

The kids always love fun food and these cute Halloween oranges are fantastic for dessert or a treat but are also great for a children’s Halloween party buffet or healthy halloween snacks and are so easy to make. These are just one of many Halloween food ideas I’m planning to write about.

They make a great change from unhealthy options and the children really enjoy them. It’s so hard to find healthy recipes for Halloween party food so I thought these might inspire others when it comes to Halloween party planning.

Everything at Halloween centres around pumpkins and these oranges with faces do look like mini pumpkins sitting on the side. You could even get an edible pen and draw pumpkin lines and leaves on the outside too.

You can get as creative with these oranges as if you were carving a pumpkin – your options are as vast as your imagination! As oranges are so small we kept our designs fairly simple but I would love to see what you come up with.

They’re a great kids party food that the whole family will enjoy – and perfect for a birthday party too. You could serve with ice cream to make a really lovely dessert. You can also make mandarin orange pumpkins with mandarin oranges, clementine oranges, satsumas or tangerines and cucumber or celery.
