Mincemeat Puff Pastry Twists Recipe

As much as we love making – and eating – mince pies, we also love finding new treats to make using mincemeat over the festive season and more ways to use up leftover mincemeat throughout the year too. One of our latest bakes are these easy Mincemeat Puff Pastry Twists – super easy to make and utterly delicious too! They follow on nicely from our easy mincemeat swirls and the kids love to help make them.

How do you make easy puff pastry mincemeat twists?
These puff pastry mincemeat twists could not be easier to make. You just need ready rolled puff pastry sheets, mincemeat – either shop bought or homemade – and an egg to glaze the finished pastries with before baking.
Although out children tend to eat these mincemeat pastry twists as soon as they’ve cooled slightly from the oven, you can also dust them with icing sugar before serving to make them look a little bit more fancy! Especially if making them at Christmas.

So here’s our Mincemeat Puff Pastry Twists recipe – happy baking!
Ingredients
- a sheet of ready made puff pastry
- 200g mincemeat
- an egg, beaten

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200C/400F/Gas 7 and line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper
- Make sure the pastry is at room temperature and unroll onto a clean work surface
- Cut the pastry in half length ways
- Spread the mincemeat over one half of the pastry
- Place the other half of the pastry on top and press down firmly
- Cut the pastry sandwich you’ve created into twelve equal strips
- Twist each pastry strip and place on the prepared baking sheet
- Brush with the beaten egg
- Put the baking tray in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
