Me & Mine {May 2022}

May is always a lovely month for us, with Little Man’s birthday in the middle of it, and this May has been no different. It’s been full of birthday celebrations, seeing friends and family and a lot of lovely days out too.

The only bad thing about may has been the weather. Up and down, with more wet, overcast or cold days compared to the handful of bright sunny days. But I hope that means the summer, when it comes, will be bright, dry and lovely.

We started the month with an early weekend break away for Little Man’s birthday, going to Blists Hill, the Black Country Living Museum and Dudley Zoo. It was such a nice break, we did so much and it was just nice to have a whole chunk of quality time together away from work, school and routines.

It was then Little Man’s birthday where we spent the weekend seeing friends and family, went to a local arcade as a birthday treat and ate far too much cake. I can’t believe that the littlest member of our family is 9 already. And what a gorgeous nine year old he is. We really are lucky.

We had another lovely weekend going to Carter’s Steam Fair and Marwell Zoo – one in blazing sunshine and the other in torrential rain. See what I mean about the weather?! Even with the rubbish weather at times, it’s so lovely to be able to go places and do things. After the pandemic that isn’t something I’ll ever take for granted again.

We’re finishing the month on half term and we have a very special trip planned – the kids don’t know anything about it but we’ll be there by the time this post goes live and I am so excited! I’ll tell you all about it when we’re home.

I hope you have had a lovely May too – and that you have a great half term. One more half term left at school and then it’s the summer. It can’t come soon enough!
