Siblings {September 2020}

It’s that time of the month again where I look back at the last few weeks, take a minute to appreciate LP and Little Man’s relationship and share photos of them I’ve taken from the month.

This has been a huge month for LP and Little Man. The month where they finally got to go back to school! That has definitely dominated the last couple of weeks for us and it’s all been so positive.

The children are now at the same school campus after two years apart and it’s is so nice for all of us. It takes ten minutes to walk to school, I drop them off at 8:30am, pick them up at 3pm and they go in so happily in the morning. It’s lovely.

The first day of school started with staggered drop offs – LP going in at 8:30am and Little Man going in at 8:50am and with us just having to wait around in the morning. But, after the first day they changed it so siblings could go in together at the earliest of the drop off times and then be collected at the same time too. This has been pretty huge for me – meaning I’m done with drop off within 20 minutes. It used to take me over an hour when it was two different campuses. Amazing!

So LP and Little Man are loving school. It’s the same but different for them with lots of outdoor learning, eating most of their lunches in their classrooms and using hand sanitiser constantly. But, they love school, love being around their friends and love to learn.

Before school started we celebrated LP’s ninth birthday. We managed to have days out and time with family and friends which was lovely after Little Man’s birthday in lockdown where we couldn’t do much at all.

And LP and Little Man have had so much time together on days out this month. Aldershot Military Museum, our GoBoat adventure, Bocketts Farm… They have done so much and loved picking up the pace slightly over the summer holidays.

We are still mostly staying at home, not seeing many people and having quieter time but we went out and did more over the summer which the children really enjoyed.

Now, the children are on a new adventure as we’ve moved out of our home for a few weeks whilst our loft conversion work starts. They get to have sleepovers every night in our AirBnB rental and plan their brand new bedrooms when we get home again. It’s an exciting time for them both right now.
