I recently announced that I was proud to be a PurFlo Ambassador and as my first PurFlo review I have been sent a PurFlo Breathable Mattress to review – the product that launched the PurFlo brand!

PurFlo Breathable Mattress

What were our first impressions of the PurFlo Breathable Mattress?

My first thought when the Purflo mattress arrived was ‘That’s not a mattress!’ as it was in such a small box! It was only when I opened it that I realised it was a mattress but it was also very unlike any mattress I had ever come across before.

How is the PurFlo Breathable Mattress different from other mattresses?

PurFlo Breathable Crib Mattresses are essentially a frame and a crib mattress cover that works as any other mattress would but with many benefits over a conventional mattress. The PurFlo mattress is fully breathable, fully washable and completely foam-free. It is also the only fully washable cot mattress which provides a genuine dust-mite free environment which helps to prevent the harmful build-up of allergens which are known to aggravate allergies such as Asthma and Eczema.

What are the benefits of the PurFlo Breathable Mattress?

The benefits of the PurFlo Breathable Cot Bed Mattress include preventing the pooling and rebreathing of CO2 and other potentially toxic gases, reducing the risk of overheating, 100% machine washable, packs compactly into its own bag for travel or storage and it’s available in cot or cot bed mattress sizes. It’s suitable from birth onwards so it is the perfect purchase for anyone to look at during pregnancy or as a new mum for their baby or later as a toddler.

How easy was the PurFlo Breathable Mattress to put together?

The breathable mattresses are straight forward to put together although it did take a bit of time as the cover is very tight on the frame to create a taught sleeping surface. The finished mattress is great – It feels quite firm considering there isn’t anything behind the PurFlo Sleepsurface. The PurFlo Breathable Mattress also fits the cot bed really well – The mattress we had previously feels quite loose and even slightly small in comparison.

PurFlo Breathable Mattress

Little Man has slept really well on the PurFlo Breathable Cot Mattress and it does look like a comfortable and inviting place to have safe sleep. PurFlo also sell a range of PurFlo fitted sheets that maintains the mattresses breathability. For us a huge benefit of the PurFlo mattress is that the cover is 100% machine washable, great in case Little Man is sick or has an accident later when potty training.

Overall the PurFlo Breathable Mattress was simple to put together, stores easily and creates a great, safe, sleep environment that PurFlo is renowned for.  When we were shopping for mattresses when the babies were small I wish we had come across this mattress – It’s a similar price to the standard foam one that we bought but so much better with the added reassurance of a 2 year manufacturers warranty.

The PurFlo Breathable Mattress has an RRP of £109.90
