Me & Mine {January 2018}

Oh this month has been a lovely month. Usually January is full of gloom. Cold, miserable and not much to look forward to but this January has been lovely. We have crammed so much into this month whereas we would usually just stay in doors, hibernating until spring. This year we decided to embrace the winter, get out and about and just do as much as possible.

So we started the month with a weekend in Brighton where we played on the beach, played in the arcade, went to the Sea Life Centre and just had such lovely family time. It was the simple weekend we needed after the Christmas madness.

The following weekend we went to a local hotel where we swam, relaxed and just enjoyed time together. Two weekends away in a row could have been awful but it wasn’t – the children loved it and we all really appreciated the time together. Kicking off a brand new year having Dave home every weekend has made this year much more exciting and so 2018 is definitely going to be a year we make the most of those weekends.

A chunk of the month was taken up with work on the garden which I’m excited to share when it’s finished. It’s going to completely change how we use our outside space and I’m excited for it to be done – and the fun we’ll have afterwards!

We finished the month with a weekend in London celebrating my mother in law’s 60th birthday. We crammed in so much, surrounded by family and had just the best weekend. It was perfect and a great end to a really lovely month. Now, February has a lot to live up to!
