Liked & Loved {June 2026}

It’s that time of the month where I share everything we’ve been enjoying and appreciating over the last few weeks. I don’t know where June has gone – it feels like yesterday we were celebrating Little Man’s birthday and yet six weeks have passed us by!
So, without further ado, here’s everything we’ve liked and loved this month:
Berlin
When I wrote last month’s Liked & Loved post LP was in Berlin – she left that day for a four day residential. LP hasn’t been away from home for that long before and I felt like my arm had been cut off – I missed her so much! But, she had a great time. They saw the sights, learnt a lot that has helped to reinforce their history GCSE and really immersed themselves in German culture.
Chessington World of Adventures
On LP’s last day in Berlin we passed the day until she got home by taking Little Man to Chessington World of Adventures. We have Merlin Annual Passes this year and it’s nice to be able to just pop to a theme park for a few hours. The three of us had a great time and we can’t wait to go back with LP at some point.
College open evenings
LP’s school years are flying by and we have had two college open evenings this month to prepare for the next stage in LP’s life and education. She ended up liking one of the colleges much more than the other, and has now decided on which A-levels to take which feels like huge progress. We just have one more college to take a look at next month and then LP can start applying – it’s definitely a busy, exciting time for her at the moment.
Mock GCSEs
LP had her mock GCSEs before the Easter holidays and she has now had all her results back – and she passed them all. We could not be more proud of her and know that she’ll do well if she keeps the same great attitude and focus over the next year.
Petersfield
I had a lovely couple of hours in Petersfield with Lauren earlier this month. It’s somewhere I have driven past often but have never stopped – until now. We had a really nice mooch around the charity shops – there were so many – and had a nice lunch as well as exploring Petersfield Physic Garden and Petersfield Lake. It was such a nice day.
Toy Story 5
We had a family trip to the cinema to see Toy Story 5 and, as long term Toy Story and Disney fans, we all really enjoyed it. Such a great follow on in the series – although obviously not a patch on other movies that have gone before it. Still, very much well worth watching.
The garden
The garden is still bringing me so much joy and my £3 hydrangeas from last year are a big part of that. They are beautiful and seem to be growing bigger and happier as each day passes.
The birds are still loving the garden and we have had so many poppies bloom over the last few weeks. It’s become a real haven of activity and it’s lovely to see new life springing up all over the place.
Wonky fruit
We have been getting through so much fruit as a family that I thought I would subscribe to a wonky fruit service – and we had our first delivery earlier this month. We’re using Wonky Veg Boxes and so far love it – it’s so nice to have a full up fruit bowl!
Warwick Castle
We had a lovely stay at Warwick Castle over Father’s Day weekend, spending a day at the castle and then spending the night in one of their Woodland Forest Lodges. It was such a nice night away and the lodge couldn’t have been a nicer place to stay – quiet and surrounded by wildlife.
The weather
I can’t finish this post without mentioning the weather. The last few days have been so incredibly hot and it has been pretty unbearable at times. But, I definitely prefer this to the endless rain that we had over the previous weeks. It’s nice to have the sun shining.
And that is it for June. I hope you’ve had a lovely month and I’ll be back in a few weeks with everything we’ve loved in July – by which point the kids will be on their summer holidays! I can’t quite believe it.
