Have you tried Cadbury’s latest chocolate bar yet? I have seen Cadbury Caramilk bars everywhere – and it’s pretty tasty too and such a contrast to traditional Cadbury Dairy Milk or other Cadbury chocolate bars. I thought it would be like the classic Caramac bars but, like it says on the wrapper, Caramilk is 95% white chocolate with 5% caramel. And it works really well.
As soon as I saw the bars I knew I had to make an easy Caramilk fudge recipe to add to our collection and it doesn’t get any easier than this Slow Cooker Caramilk Fudge – with just two ingredients. We already made a Caramac fudge recipe and this one has a really different consistency, rich, creamy and caramel!
Can you vary this Cadbury’s Caramilk fudge recipe?
Whilst writing up this two ingredient Caramilk fudge recipe I came across a Slow Cooker Central recipe for Caramilk Crunchie Fudge and I can’t wait to try it too. You just scatter over top Crunchie or honeycomb pieces. I think the milk chocolate Crunchie would add a great contrast to the Caramilk flavour and it shows that if you want to vary this recipe you can add any toppings you like just before you put it in the fridge to set. I love this easy fudge just as it is though!
Can you make this Caramilk fudge slow cooker recipe in the microwave?
Many people make fudge in the microwave but I much prefer the control I have when I make it in the crock pot or slow cooker. If you don’t have a slow cooker or want to save time, make it in the microwave by putting the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and heating on short bursts in the microwave, stirring in between. Then follow the instructions as per the recipe below.
How long does slow cooker fudge keep for?
This slow cooker fudge keeps well in the fridge, in an airtight container for a couple of weeks. The flavour matures over the first couple of days of it being in the fridge so you get the full nutty chocolate flavour after it’s been in the fridge for a few days.
Can you make slow cooker fudge with evaporated milk?
Our slow cooker fudge works because condensed milk has a really high sugar content, needed to create that beautifully rich fudge. Evaporated milk isn’t the same, doesn’t have that sugar content and isn’t thick enough to help the fudge thicken and set. You can’t use evaporated milk in these recipes – so get some condensed milk instead.
Do you cook slow cooker fudge high or low temperature?
We always cook fudge on a high slow cooker temperature setting and it takes around 40 minutes in total. You could make it on the low setting but it would take longer and would still need to be stirred regularly. You may as well keep the crock pot on high and be done in under an hour!
When cooking, is the slow cooker fudge lid on or off?
When making this slow cooker fudge, you need to remove the slow cooker lid otherwise excess moisture would be retained in the slow cooker pot and the fudge wouldn’t thicken as it needs to.
If you’re looking for other Cadbury fudge recipes to try, there’s our Creme Egg Fudge, Mini Egg Fudge or just a simple classic Chocolate Fudge that Cadburys chocolate would work so well in. You can find all our fudge recipes so far here.
