One thing we never have enough of in the summer is shade. Whether we’re in our garden, on the beach or at a local park, we’re always looking for shade. This summer, Sun & The Beach have come to our rescue with their Luxury Sun Shade, a wonderful innovation that every family would really appreciate.

The Luxury Sun Shades from Sun & The Beach are different to anything I have seen before. They work on a pretty tried and tested concept of guy lines, sheeting and poles but, unlike the constructions you see in forest schools, Sun & The Shade have made a sun shade that is pretty failsafe. Anyone can put it up, it stays up and it’s ultra portable too.
When the sun shade arrives, everything is packed into a really compact and durable carry bag. It was so small that I was dubious about how good the shade would be – but I needn’t have worried. It’s small enough for even the children to carry and lightweight, despite having so many features and accessories. Plus, the bag is roomy enough to fit your keys and purse in too!
The instructions couldn’t have been simpler – spread out the fabric and then either fill the sandbags with sand, pebbles etc or use the provided pegs on grass, making sure you make the ropes taught as you go. When the shade is spread on the ground and secured in place, it’s time to add the poles.
The poles fold easily to fit in the bag and literally pop together with no effort at all. They have a spike on one end and a ball on the other and can be easily placed to suit the shade you need. Within minutes the poles were propped in place and the sun shade was finished!
We have a real lack of shade in our garden. It’s south facing and gets sun all day which is great – unless you want to sit outside, safely in the shade. The children were so pleased with the new sun shade and spent days in it once we put it up. It stayed up safely overnight and coped well with any wind in the garden too.
The Luxury Sun Shades are UPF50+ and block 98% of the suns harmful UV rays so you can sure that your family are really safe from the sun wherever you are. This is the sort of shade I would have loved when the children were babies or toddlers – easy to put up, loads of space and versatile too. Shade whenever you need it.
Plus, it’s super easy to take down too. Fold up the poles, empty out the sandbags or pull up the pegs and and shove it all in the bag. The fabric is really forgiving and doesn’t need folding neatly. Also, it’s machine washable. You can untie the ropes and throw it in the washing machine whenever you want to give it a clean.
We’re now really looking forward to using the Sun & The Beach sun shade over the summer, both at home and away. We’ll be taking it on beach trips and other days out as it’s just so compact that we can put it in the car and always have it with us when we need it, carrying it on a day out with ease.
The sun shade also comes with towel clips to attach and dry towels at the beach, a spade to help fill the sand bags and a little pouch to put the poles in as well. I feel like Sun & The Beach have thought of everything. The fabric is even water resistant so you’ll be safe from any sudden showers too – oh we do love the changeable British weather!
