Me & Mine {October 2016}

Oh October. One of my favourite months and it is over already. There’s something so lovely about autumn, with the leaves falling from the trees, everything lovely shades of orange and brown and that chill in the air that means Christmas will soon be here. Yep, I’m looking forward to Christmas already!

This month has been full of school, work and all that usual stuff but we also had our lovely friends down for the weekend which was definitely a highlight of the month. We took the kids to Legoland and had a lovely day, finished off with fireworks and hot chocolate!

The month has actually whizzed by. I have been working my notice period at work and I’ve loved half term as I realised it was the last school holidays that I’d be working through. I know, I’ll still have my blog going forward but I’ll never see this blog as real work – it’s too enjoyable for that.

But, it does mean that soon after this month comes to a close we’ll have a better work/life balance. This will be the last month of Dave having to be up all day before working a night shift, the last month where I haven’t been able to take the children to Saturday morning movies and the last month where I always miss the special school assemblies. So October for us as a family is a bit of a turning point – and I’m definitely looking forward to what November, and the future, brings.

October – you have been the quickest month yet, you’ve been pretty dark and dreary but you have been comforting, familiar and a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for always being a great month!
