Indoor Picnic Lunches {The Ordinary Moments}
We love picnics but at this time of year the weather isn’t the best for being outside with a picnic rug so we like to sometimes recreate picnics in our lounge – in front of the TV!
LP picks a blanket and asks me to throw it on the floor, she then grabs a cushion and one for Little Man and plonks herself down, waiting for lunch to arrive. These tend to be lazy, picky lunches – typical picnic type nibbles. Quick and easy for me but the children love it.
The only thing with these lunches is they can end up lasting all afternoon – the kids get distracted by the TV, they graze rather than eat and before we know it the sun is low in the sky and everything is getting darker.
Lazy picnic lunches though are something we love. We can all relax, nothing formal about them and the best part is that friends can join in too – they’re great when we have a play date.
But even though I love an indoor picnic I cannot wait for the real thing again in the summer. We are at the point now of missing the nice weather, missing the flowers and missing the long days spent out in the sun. I’m loving the build up to Christmas but will really like it when the weather starts getting warmer again.
I love indoor picnics too, we haven’t been able to do one for a while as the twins won’t quite sit still and eat! Sounds like your two just love them and they look so sweet plonked on the rug! xx
This is so sweet. We’ve never done an indoor picnic with Ethan, I highly doubt that he would sit still! x
This looks lovely! Must be fun for kids too, doing something a bit out of the ordinary 🙂 I’ve never done indoor picnics, but I will have to try them out when my little one is a little bit bigger. #theordinarymoments
