It’s the ‘Ocean View Two Bedroom’ which was like a little house, with an upstairs and downstairs, built into the hillside. Both rooms had outdoor space and their own shower rooms. Such a great option for a family.

We can’t wait to go back again in the future. Here’s just a little snippet of our trip.
AD - Press Tickets | We had such a nice day at @na AD - Press Tickets | We had such a nice day at @national_motor_museum despite the rain! The children loved the Little Beaulieu play area and we loved exploring the National Motor Museum and Top Gear exhibit before having a ride on the monorail! We went on an old open topped bus, explored the Beaulieu Manor House and loved the gardens.
Beaulieu is always a great day out - whatever the weather. This summer they have a whole ‘Summer of Fun’ planned, with activities most days - parades, bird shows and hundreds of sculptures within the grounds too. If you’re looking for a day out this summer definitely think about heading to Beaulieu.

With CGI ABBA and a live band, it’s like being at an ABBA concert 40 years ago but with modern lighting, effects and sound. ABBA look and sound real, it’s a mind blowing experience.
The set includes all the songs you know and love as well as a few less familiar ones.
You can’t take photos during the show which actually made a refreshing change. A whole arena focused purely on the show and soaking up the moment. It’s definitely something the four of us will always remember.
Now, I’m off to sing Dancing Queen all the way home.
AD - Press Trip | We had such a great day at @phdo AD - Press Trip | We had such a great day at @phdockyard today. They have a fantastic Ultimate Explorer ticket that lets you visit all the attractions as many times as you like for 12 months - and after a day at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard we can see that you need more than one day to really do everything!

We explored HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Exhibition - which is incredible! We also saw where ships are built and restored and spent time in Action Stations where the kids climbed and did an assault course.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is such a fun, educational day out with something for all ages - we can’t wait to go on their harbour tours next time we visit!

Oh these two! Every day I feel lucky to have them. Oh these two! Every day I feel lucky to have them. As school draws to a close at lunchtime, I’m looking forward to a whole summer with them. My favourite people.

They’ve both had a great year at school this year. Troy’s first without his sister by his side and Athena’s first at secondary school.

They both had great reports, always did their best and have made some really lovely new friends this year. I could not be more proud of them.

Now, let’s go and enjoy the next six weeks before school starts all over again!

Fantastic Services After Builders Clean Review

Disclosure: We were sent the featured products for the purpose of this post however all opinions are my own.

Anyone who reads this blog regularly or follows me on social media will know that we have spent the last few months having an extension built and although I am quite a laid back person there have been times where it’s all got a bit much – especially the never ending dust.

Review: Fantastic Services After Builders Clean

By the time the building work was coming to an end we knew that we needed help with the cleaning. Dave and I had very little energy left and the extension, although beautiful, had so much that needed to be cleaned. It had plaster splattered everywhere, sawdust on the floor and just dust in every space imaginable. The lounge wasn’t much better – with the TV, toys and every surface caked in dust.

But, after having a Fantastic Services Deep Clean a couple of years ago we enlisted their help to clean our house, to do an official After Builders Clean. The clean is perfect for what we needed – they’re used to plaster splatters, dust, paint and everything else and they work out how many people and how many hours are needed to clean the space.

We asked them to focus on downstairs, just the hallway, lounge and new extension – incorporating the utility room and downstairs toilet and booked them in for a morning. We were given email updates throughout the process and they arrived bang on time, at 8am on the day we’d chosen.

They weren’t concerned at the level of cleaning needed, asking us what the priorities were and telling us they’d be done by lunchtime. My main issues were the dust and the floor in the extension. They said they’d wipe down all the outsides of the kitchen cabinets, the appliances and even clean the insides of the windows. The supplied their own cleaning products, even bringing a mop and hoover with them, and I happily left them to it.

When I came back the house was sparkling. The floor was the most noticeable part for me as it had gone from being caked in dust and plaster to being so clean. The washing machine, that had lived through the building work looked shiny and new and all of the cabinets were dust free. It looked like the extension I had imagined – and I couldn’t have been happier.

Our lounge and hallway were also dust free, with all the surfaces cleaned, all the windows cleaned inside and even our sofa pulled out and cleaned underneath – I had forgotten what a dust free house looked like but Fantastic Services gave us a lovely clean home again – and I really could have cried. It was such a relief after months of building work.

Hi Stevie, this is a long shot, I was looking at your mixer tap in your pics and I have the exact same, but need a new spindle… Can you tell me what make/brand of mixer tap it is as I never bought these originally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Kind regards

      Ralph

Hi Ralph, I’m not sure of the name but it’s from Howdens and from memory they didn’t have that many options so should hopefully still sell it! Donna

I would ask them to clean my bathroom as it is very small and difficult because I have lots of pipes etc. I have arthritis in my neck which makes it very difficult to clean and so it’s got very grotty!

I would use this on my daughter’s garden which is full of bits of masonry, rotting wood, and other junk that the previous owners and their tenants left behind, plus loads of nettles and brambles. My poor son in law has been bravely battling these for weeks and he still has loads more clearing to do. It would be so nice for my little granddaughter to actually use the back garden, something that’s not possible at the moment as it’s too hazardous.
