Festive light trails are such a tradition for us. We’ll go to at least one or two over the festive season and love to find new holiday light displays, seeing the different installations and really getting into the festive spirit. There’s something so magical about holiday lights, especially if you’re seeing them with your nearest and dearest.
I thought I’d put together all the Christmas light trails across London in the hope that there’ll be an event with dates that work for you. I’ve included the lowest cost – usually for off peak times – and so make sure you click through to the event website to check up to date information and book your tickets.
Christmas Light Trails in London
Christmas at Kew – Englefield Green, Egham TW20 0UU
Experience the wonder of Christmas at Kew 2025, London’s most enchanting festive light trail. Christmas at Kew 2025 invites you into a botanical world of light, music and magic. This year’s trail showcases brand-new creations from world-renowned artists, lighting up Kew’s landscapes in dazzling colour. It’s the perfect Christmas event, whether you’re marking the start of the festive season with family or celebrating the New year under the stars with friends.
When: Selected dates, 14 November 2025 to 4 January 2026

Alice and the Queen’s Beasts at Hall Place & Gardens – Bourne Road, Bexley DA5 1PQ
Grab your friends and family for a fabulous immersive lantern light show experience based on the Alice in Wonderland stories. Parts of Hall Place Historic House and formal Gardens will be transformed with atmospheric light and sound sculptures as well as projections, playful characters and immersive games.
When: 13th to 16th November 2025
Cost: £12.50 adult, £8.50 child (3 – 15 years old), under 3 years old free
The Epping Ongar Lights Express – Ongar Station, Station Approach, Ongar CM5 9BN
The Epping Ongar Lights Express is an incredible light show on and in a steam train, consisting of thousands of coloured LED lights and LED wristbands, creating a kaleidoscope of different colours and flashing patterns. The train looks amazing, inside and out!
Join the festive action on board and get in the party mood with a festive DJ mix of music the whole family will love. Each passenger will receive their own interactive LED wristband which is synchronised to the music, meaning you become part of the show!
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 15th November 2025 to 4th January 2026, and also on 29th to 31st December 2025.
Cost: £25 per adult and £20 per child
Neverland at Kenwood – Hampstead Lane, Hampstead NW3 7JR
This Christmas step into a story filled with imagination and spectacle! Follow Tinkerbell on an unforgettable journey to a place of magic, imagination and adventure. Neverland at Kenwood 2025 invites you to leave the ordinary behind and follow the stars through an enchanting new outdoor light trail like no other. Perfect for those seeking festive fun and a magical Christmas in London, Neverland transforms the historic Kenwood into a dreamworld of adventure, wonder and seasonal joy.

The Angels Are Coming! at Southwark Cathedral – London Bridge, London SE1 9DA

Chelsea Winter Illuminations – Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3 4SR
Step into Chelsea Winter Illuminations – the only light trail in Central London. Wander through spectacular large-scale installations and sensory moments across our historic grounds at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Afterwards you have the option to warm up in the festive village with food, drinks, live music and more. A magical winter experience, right in the heart of the city.
When: 26th November to 28th December 2025
Cost: From £15 per adult and £5 per child
Winter Light Trail at Vauxhall City Farm – 165 Tyers Street, London SE11 5HS
There will be live music and they are keeping the animals up after dark so you can wander through the farmyard during the Farm Lates. The bar will be open serving up winter warmers such as hot chocolate, mulled wine and hot food.
When: 29th to 21st December 2025
Cost: £5 per person, under 10s are free!

Canary Wharf Winter Lights
A crowd favourite, the Winter Lights festival showcases exceptional light artwork from acclaimed artists and studios around the world. Next year’s festival will follow the theme of DREAMSCAPE, taking visitors on a journey through surreal, ethereal and uniquely human experiences, transforming Canary Wharf into a landscape of discovery and possibility.
When: Tuesday 20th to Saturday 31st January 2026

London Illuminated Light Trail at Fulham Palace – Fulham Palace, London SW6 6EA
Immerse yourself in the festive spirit and experience the magic of the festive season at Fulham Palace Park’s Illuminated Garden Trail. Explore 13 acres of stunning botanical gardens, rare trees, and a charming walled garden, all transformed into an enchanted winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights. This is a must-see event to kick off the holiday season.
As you stroll through the illuminated gardens, enjoy the festive atmosphere with boutique shopping, fire pits for toasting marshmallows, and a selection of delicious food and mulled wine. Don’t miss the captivating performances by fire breathers, stilt walkers, and the incredible magician Markele, as seen on Britain’s Got Talent.

Winter Light 2025 at Southbank Centre
Over the dark winter nights, the Southbank Centre site is illuminated by outdoor artworks that play with light and colour – explore to discover them all.

Time by Luxmuralis at Old Royal Naval College – Painted Hall, Old Royal Naval College, London SE10 9NN
Time is a spectacular sound and light show by Luxmuralis, transforming the Old Royal Naval College after dark for the first time. This immersive experience takes you on an unforgettable journey through history and science, exploring humanity’s relationship with the concept of time. Traverse wormholes, step inside the intricate workings of clocks, and follow a dramatic narrative that stretches from the present day back to the very beginning of the universe.
When: 12-22 Nov 2025
Cost: £15 (adults), £13.50 (students), £12 (kids 5-16), £43.50 (family of 4), kids 5 and under go free
The Ever After Garden – Duke of York Square, Chelsea, London SW3 4LY.
The Ever After Garden is a tranquil haven where everyone everywhere can remember treasured friends and family they have lost. Over the festive season, Duke of York Square, in the heart of Chelsea, will be lit up with over 30,000 illuminated white roses. You are invited to donate and dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one, in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
When: 13 November – 16 December 2025.
Cost: Free to visit, £15 recommended donation to dedicate a flower to a loved one.
