Me & Mine {August 2015}

I knew this month would be exhausting. I knew that I would have no time to think or even stop and take a moment but I also knew that this was going to be a big month. This month was the last one before LP starts school, the month where she turned four and the bulk of our summer all rolled into one. I wanted to make August a great month, one full of memories and family time together. One where each day was an adventure and where no days were wasted. Looking back at this month I can say with certainty that we definitely had that kind of month.

August has been packed full of plans. Although Dave and I haven’t had any real time off work we have made sure that any days we are home with the children we are doing things and the few days we have had as a family have been spent doing things the children will love and having quality time together.

Me & Mine {August 2015}

This month we have been to so many National Trust places and made the most of our Legoland passes too. We have been to see so many friends and their children and we have run errands – finishing off jobs around the house and building the children a play area in the garden.

A few days ago LP turned four. She asked to go to Legoland for her Birthday so we took her there – along with her best friend and her parents. It was a lovely day for all of us and definitely a great way to celebrate your Birthday.

Then yesterday was LP’s party. We had a bouncy castle in the garden, a face painter and a barbecue. LP had a Sofia the First cake, we invited far too many people and we were left exhausted at the end of it. But LP had a blast. It was her first proper Birthday party – with friends from preschool and proper invites – and she loved it. It was a really lovely day for all of us and even the weather held out. I can’t quite believe that LP is four already. The years really have flown by.

And now we are here. The last day of August. I have to say thank you. Thank you for August. The weather has been hit and miss but we have hardly noticed. We have loved every minute of it. Thanks August, see you next year.
