Oh August. You have been the best. I know, August has been rainy, it’s felt like February at times but it has also been a month full of family time, days out, adventures and it saw LP turn six too. It has been a really special month.
We started the month in Greece with the second half of our holiday at Mark Warner’s Lakitira resort and literally spent days lazing in the sun, swimming, eating and just enjoying each other’s company. It was perfect.
Then we got back home and had mountains of washing to deal with as well as getting back to normality – but the children had a long weekend at their grandparents, I had a chance to catch up with work and Dave went back to work for a bit. Normality definitely resumed but, by the time LP’s birthday came around we were full steam ahead yet again.
We had a day out at the Cotswold Wildlife Park, a trip up to Drayton Manor and we’re currently having a couple of days over in Colchester, exploring Colchester Zoo for the first time. LP had a birthday party and a family barbecue in the garden and we saw so many family – it really was lovely.
We have had such a busy summer and such a lovely August and the rain hasn’t spoilt it for us at all. I’m glad that the last summer before Little Man started school was a good one and I’m now focusing on the next few days and the last few adventures I can squeeze in before they both go back to school on Wednesday.
So thanks August, you have been an awesome month. Same time next year, yeah?
