We had some turkey mince in the freezer and I wasn’t sure what to do with it but shortly after reviewing the KitchenCraft Burger Press we realised that burgers don’t have to be beef, and next thing we knew we were having turkey burgers for dinner!

Homemade Turkey Burgers Recipe

Burgers are so easy to make and such a simple family dinner. It’s so nice to make your own burgers, using any flavour combinations you like and with just a pack of mince as the core ingredient.

Homemade burgers are something that the whole family can get involved in making and you can even adapt each burger to suit your family’s tastes too. You can get any hamburger buns you like – plain, seeded or briche, and add any topping that you like too. It’s best to treat healthy turkey burgers much like a classic burger – with sauce, burger buns and anything else you love in a burger!

There really is nothing like the satisfaction of making a burger at home – and I cannot wait to make these again with the children. If you give this recipe a go – enjoy! It’s not a traditional hamburger but it’s a pretty good alternative, especially if you’re trying to reduce your red meat intake.

Can you vary this burger recipe?

We love these burgers and often put extra additions in depending on what we have in the fridge or cupboards at the time. Red onion is always a lovely variation and a dash of Worcestershire Sauce could be a great addition too.

How do you cook these burgers?

Over the summer we love cooking these turkey mince burgers on the barbecue but when the weather isn’t as good we cook them on a griddle or skillet over medium heat on the hob. You could also bake the turkey burgers in oven if you wanted. 200C for about 10-15 minutes on each side.

So here’s our delicious Homemade Turkey Burger Recipe:
