You can find wine tasting events at vineyards and wineries across the country but also many stately homes and restaurants also offer wine tasting experiences. I thought I would put together all the wine tasting options across Surrey to inspire your next wine tasting session.

Where to go Wine Tasting in Surrey

The main places to go wine tasting in Surrey are the Surrey Hills Vineyards which are across the Surrey Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. The Surrey Hills wine locations comprise of Greyfriars Vineyard, Albury Organic Vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate, High Clandon Estate Vineyard and Chilworth Manor Vineyard. Below you can find details of wine tasting at each of the Surrey Hill Vineyards along with more wine tasting options across Surrey.

Greyfriars Vineyard – The Hog’s Back, Puttenham, Guildford GU3 1AG

Vineyard and Winery Tour and Tasting: The vineyard tour with wine tasting will take visitors on a guided walk through the beautiful vineyards finishing with a tutored tasting of several of the award winning sparkling and still wines from Greyfriars Vineyard.

Albury Vineyard – Albury, Shere Road, Albury, Guildford GU5 9BW

Vineyard Tour and Tasting: This popular vineyard tour and tasting experience starts with an introduction to the English wine scene, followed by a guided walk though the vineyard overlooking the beautiful Surrey Hills. The tour finishes seated in the tasting gazebo where you’ll be guided through a tasting of Albury Vineyard’s award-winning wines.

Denbies Wine Estate – Bradley Lane, Dorking RH5 6AA

Indoor Wine Tasting Winery Tour: The Indoor Wine Tasting Experience begins with a short film in Denbies Cinema. The vineyard through the seasons film shows a fascinating insight into the workings of the vineyard and English wine production. Enjoy a glass of Denbies Sparkling Wine during the film and after, take a short walk of the winery, before heading down to the atmospheric cellars to try a selection of Denbies wines.

Cost: From £16.50 per person. Denbies also offer an Outdoor Vineyard Train Tour that you can book in addition to the indoor tasting plus many other events throughout the year.

High Clandon Estate Vineyard – High Clandon GU4 7RP

Tour, Talk and Tasting: This experience includes a fascinating talk by the owners Sibylla & Bruce, a tour of the gardens and vineyard, the atmospheric Glass Barn, a chance to view the works of art on display and taste the vintage-only Cuvée, Liqueur, Gin and Honey.

Cost: £25 per person. They also have open days at High Clandon Vineyard throughout the year.

Chilworth Manor Vineyard – Halfpenny Lane, Chilworth, Guildford GU4 8NN

Tours & Tastings: On this vineyard tour you can see and learn about vines, their growth cycle and the winemaking process, as well as hearing about the fascinating history of Chilworth Manor. After a short walk around the vineyard you’ll return to the new tasting barn. With stunning views over the vineyard and across to St Martha’s Hill, it’s the perfect spot to try sparkling wines and still rosé, together with some complimentary pairing bites.

Taurus Wines – Whipley Manor Farm, Palmers Cross, Guildford GU5 0LL

Wine Tasting Events at Taurus Wines: Throughout the year Taurus Wines offer wine tastings at their HQ at Whipley Manor Farm. These are either a Walkabout Tastings where favourite bottles of wine are enjoyed alongside a selection of canapés, with staff on hand to talk to you about the wines. These are often themed, such as Wines for Winter or Rosé Wines, and are a great fun and informal way to discover some new wines.

Alternatively, Taurus Wines host Winemaker Feasts which are more intimate affairs where an esteemed winemaker, ambassador or even a Master of Wine visits the store and to talk through several wines accompanying a three-course menu, designed to pair perfectly with the wines.

Corkage Wine Shop and Bar – 60 Quarry Street, Guildford GU1 3UA

Corkage Wine Tasting Events: Corkage wine-tasting events offer a fun way to explore wine in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whether you’re a wine novice or a seasoned connoisseur, there’s always lots to learn and enjoy.

Wine Tastings: Great wine, great food, great time with friends – it’s that fun and that simple – and is exactly what Vineking invite you to enjoy at their monthly wine tasting events.

Blackdown Ridge VineyPard – Blackdown Ridge, Blackdown Park, Fernden Ln, Haslemere GU27 3BT

Vineyard and Winery Tours: You and your friends will be welcomed with a short history of how and why the Blackdown Ridge Estate was first started. This is followed by a walk around the vineyard where you will learn about the varieties and management of the vines throughout the year.

Along the way you will visit the winery where you will learn about the production process of the wines and see some of the slightly eccentric equipment! You’ll finish by offering you a chance to sit down, relax and taste the national and international award-winning English wines, both still and sparkling. It is a chance to discuss and compare the vintages along with some cheeses, crackers olives and salami.
