If you’re a gin fan then gin tasting is such a great activity for a night out or special occasion. You can order a premium gin flight at many bars that come with tasting notes or you can join organised gin tasting experiences where you taste gins as a group whilst being guided through them with a knowledgeable host.
I thought it would be good to put together all the places you can experience gin tasting in Surrey along with Surrey distillery tours – with many that also include gin tasting sessions – and also gin cocktail making workshops and other gin tours and gin experiences Surrey.

Cocktail Masterclass – Learn how to make beautiful cocktails like a pro at the Gin Kitchen cocktail bar for a fantastic gin experience. Guided through the ingredients, bar tools, techniques and tips under the expert tutelage of a cocktail bartender, learn to make the most beautiful, delectable drinks as part of this fun and fabulous experience. Creating three drinks featuring different methods, a Masterclass may include a stirred, poured and shaken cocktail, sharing the insights needed to create cocktails like a pro.
The cocktail masterclasses last 2-3 hours.

Gin Tasting Experience and Tour – The Gin Kitchen tasting experience and tour is a must for any gin lover. Five gins are tasted without and then with tonic to demonstrate the effect of saturating essential oils, which gives all Gin Kitchen gins their luxurious qualities. The history of the distillery and its founders is woven into the experience along with the story behind each of the gins.
After the tasting guests choose which one to have as a full-sized G&T. The tour of the distillery then takes place, with a G&T to sip while learning about the production and bottling of this iconic brand. The event lasts around 1 1/2 hours.
When: Fridays and Saturdays.

Silent Pool Distillers – Silent Pool Distillery, Shere Road, Albury, Surrey GU5 9BW
Silent Pool Distillery Tour – Dive into the world of Silent Pool Gin on a popular distillery tour. The distillery sits in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Visit to see where Silent Pool handcraft, distil and bottle their iconic gin. The guide will explain the legend of the Silent Pool, why and how they chose the location for the distillery, and the history of gin itself. Visit the stills that make the spirits and find out about the four-stage distillation process and how they get the best out of the carefully selected botanicals that flavour the gins. And of course you get to taste the range of spirits too!
You’ll also receive a £5 voucher to use in the distillery shop. Tours last 90 minutes.

The Surrey Copper Distillery – 222 Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8GA
Distillery Tour – The tour begins with the chief distiller telling you all about the fundamentals of gin, how gin is made and introducing you to some of the botanicals used to make Copperfield London Dry Gin. After the talk you get to enjoy the walking tour of the distillery beginning with an introduction to Clara, the unique 300 litre mini carterhead, solid copper still.
The tour finishes with a tutored tasting of the Surrey Copper Distillery range of spirits. Guests are provided with a set of sample cups, each of which will contain a different neat spirit. Mixers are provided as required.
All guests will get a £5 off voucher for use in the distillery shop.

Denbies Gin & Vine Experience Day – Refreshments and pastries on arrival at Denbies. Followed by a morning at the local ‘The Gin Kitchen’ enjoying a tasting experience. The Gin Kitchen tasting experience and tour is a must for any gin lover.
Followed by a two-course lunch in the Gallery Restaurant at Denbies. The afternoon will be hosted by Denbies Wine Expert, where you will gain an understanding of Denbies wine, vine to glass, with Denbies tour and tastings.

Silent Pool Artisan Tasting Day – A fascinating and flavour-filled day out with the Artisans based at the Silent Pool. Nestled around the Silent Pool are a small group of artisans who produce exceptional food and drink. On the Artisan Tasting Day you’ll be introduced to the Artisans and have a tour around the distillery. It’s a fascinating and flavour-filled day out that includes lunch.

Surrey Tasting Rooms – 38 Church St, Reigate RH2 0AJ
The Tasting Rooms – The Surrey Tasting Rooms is a collaboration between The Vineking, Crumbs Brewing, Hurt Liqueur and Batts Hill Gin. It features a locally sourced menu, including cocktails, wines, keg and canned beers and award winning cheese and charcuterie and hosts regular events, Wine Tastings, Gin Master Classes, Beer and Curry Nights.

Gin Making Experiences in Surrey
The Gin Kitchen – Goldenlands Farm, Punchbowl Lane, Dorking, Surrey RH5 4DX
Gin Distilling Experience – Make your own gin with the help of a Master Distiller. Indulge in G&Ts whilst making your very own gin. Starting off with the botanicals, you will explore which ones are going to go well together. Next it’s off to the distillery to weigh and measure out all the botanicals and put them into the experimenting still. The distillation process is started and you will taste the gin as it comes out of the still. After this, your gin needs to be reduced by adding water to bring it to bottling strength. Finally, you will need to taste your gin in the cocktail bar, name it and design a label for the bottle before taking it home.
You produce a 70cl bottle at the experience, and The Gin Kitchen keep records of the recipe so that you can order more bottles at a later date. The experience lasts up to 3.5 hours.
When: By arrangement.
Cost: £400 for up to 6 people. Extra people can be added for £25 each, with a maximum of 12 people for each experience.
Gin Cocktail Making at Home
TT Liquor Virtual Cocktail Making Class
These classes will follow a similar structure to the TT Liquor award-winning physical ones. The experienced host will begin by outlining some core techniques, before leading you through a number of cocktail creations – giving and receiving feedback as they go. All this will be rounded off with a virtual cocktail making competition, ensuring the experience is as interconnected as possible.
