Umbrellas {The Ordinary Moments}

One of LP’s favourite Christmas presents was an umbrella. I don’t think she had ever seen a real life umbrella before this – I don’t use one as can’t push a pushchair and hold an umbrella at the same time! She’d seen umbrellas on the TV though, most often in her beloved Curious George cartoons.

As soon as she opened the umbrella she wanted it to be up, dancing under it, twirling with it and playing with it. Luckily I am not a superstitious person as since Christmas the umbrella has been open in our lounge most days. LP thinks that her umbrella is the best toy in the world.

Aside from twirling around the house with her umbrella, LP loves to take it out and about with her. She’s not happy to leave the house in the rain without it. Any time she has to put her wellies on she insists on having her umbrella too and there have even been occasions when she’s put it up in the car whilst we’ve been driving along.

The trouble with LP’s umbrella is that she needs both hands to hold it, she isn’t able to hold my hand or the pushchair whilst she has the umbrella and most of the time she will use it from our front door to the car – parked straight outside our house!

LP is a funny little thing, with an ever growing personality. She wants what she wants and she does what she does and if our Little Pickle wants to take her umbrella a few steps from door to car then who am I to argue?!

  1. Haha this is so cute, especially with her with it in the car. So funny. I am quite superstitious and unfortunately for me Mads is the same as LP and loves her Peppa Pig umbrella but I never let her have it. 😉 This is one of those things that you will love to remember about her when she is all grown up- just those funny little traits that make our children who they are. x

  2. Love this! My little girl adores Curious George and is obsessed with her brothers umbrellas, it’s about time I bought her one of her own 🙂 Love the photos, especially the one where she is also stomping in a puddle x
    (Hope this comment doesn’t end up coming through several times, tried yesterday while on train but it hasn’t shown..!)
