One of our favourite things to do in the summer is go to an outdoor cinema. Sitting on a deckchair, beanbag or picnic rug and enjoying a movie in the great outdoors is such an experience and something that you can do as a couple, with friends or as a family.

I thought it would be nice to put together all the outdoor cinema options across Hampshire to give you some inspiration for a day or night out, relaxing and watching a movie with some of your favourite people.

Although there were a lot of drive in cinema options available during the pandemic, the majority seem to have ceased since restrictions eased. I can’t find any drive in cinemas in Hampshire this summer but if any come along I’ll make sure I update this post with details.

Cinema Hire in Hampshire

If you can’t find the right option you could always think about hiring an outdoor cinema set up for a garden party or to use at a venue you’ve hired. Here are some of our favourite local suppliers:

I hope that helps you find an event or two near you to enjoy a fantastic outdoor cinema experience over the summer. Just make sure you click through and book tickets well in advance. If you know of any other outdoor cinema options that I’ve missed then please do get in touch and let me know – I’ll add them in as soon as I can. I’ll be updating this post regularly as most events get announced.

  1. We went to our first outdoor cinema in 2013 in Gran Canaria on holiday. We absolutely loved the experience; it felt amazing to sit outside and watch a film in the open! The outdoors cinemas in Hampshire looks fab I cannot believe you have so many of them!
