I love making flapjacks – they are so easy to make but incredibly moreish too and the whole family loves them but I have always tried to build on our basic flapjack recipe to give different flavour and texture options.

Our latest bake is this Maple Pecan Flapjacks recipe which is full of nutty, maple flavour. Maple and pecan is a really classic flavour combination.
How do you make Maple and Pecan Flapjacks?
Maple Pecan Flapjacks are very similar to traditional flapjacks although our classic recipes use golden syrup instead of maple syrup. For these pecan maple syrup flapjacks you simple substitute the golden syrup for maple syrup and use all the other ingredients you would usually use – rolled oats, sugar and butter, although this easy flapjack recipe also has the bonus of added chopped pecans too!

If you’re looking for more of a plain flapjack recipe you can always omit the pecans and have simple maple syrup flapjacks recipes instead. Using maple syrup is a great alternative to golden syrup that works really well.
These old fashioned maple pecan flapjacks are utterly delicious and the combination of mraple and pecan flavours as well as the fantastic nutty flapjack texture is something everyone loves. I know we’ll be baking ths pecan maple flapjack recipe often in the future!

If you’re looking for a nutty flapjack recipe that can be made in advance of a buffet or bake sale, something that you can take to a picnic or enjoy as an afternoon treat at home, this would be a fantastic choice.
Although we tend to eat these maple syrup and pecan flapjacks as soon as they’ve cooled enough, they do store well in an airtight container for a few days. It really is one of the best flapjack recipes!
