Just the Two of Us {The Ordinary Moments}

Since LP started school Little Man and I have started a whole new routine of our own. The dynamic has changed and he now knows that after dropping LP off at school we have the whole day together – or the whole day with Daddy if I’m at work.

These days vary so much. Some days we’ll pop into town, run errands, stop for a slice of cake and then walk home to tidy up, play and snuggle on the sofa for the afternoon. Other days, usually when the weather’s dry, we’ll venture to a National Trust property for a wander together or we’ll meet friends for a day out. The rainy days we spend at soft play, getting out of the house for a couple of hours and letting Little Man let off steam.

I remember the time before Little Man, those long days with LP, the constant adventures and the times where it was just her and I. Those days seems like such a long time ago and then there were three of us, Little Man in tow. Even when LP started preschool a year ago Little Man and I only had a couple of hours together before we’d be picking her up again. In the two and a half years of Little Man’s life we haven’t had much time just him and I so I really am making the most of it now.

I love spending time with my gorgeous little boy. He makes me laugh, he’s mostly happy and he has a great personality. We can have conversations, he’ll answer questions and all he wants to do is explore and try new things. He is getting so big so fast and this time next year he’ll be at preschool. So for now, this year is about Little Man and when I’m at home and LPs at school, Little Man and I will be off on our adventures. Just the two of us.

  1. Ah, it is lovely to get time together, just the two of you. I enjoy my days with my son whilst his big sister’s at school, and the days do go by so quickly. I’m making the most of them as I know that before I know it, he’ll be at school x
