Do you ever find that you’re scrolling through social media seeing other people’s perfect lives? The glossy magazine style homes, the Pinterest-worthy birthday cakes and the ever-smiling children? It’s easy to see the rose tinted glow across social media and wonder how your life compares.

I know I’m often at home, surrounded by washing, with the children bickering after a long day, having had broken sleep the night before and with the dish drainer waiting to be emptied. I see the picture perfect families online and wonder whether, actually, their reality is the same as mine. Doesn’t everyone have those parenting moments where behind the perfect picture there’s playdoh in the carpet, muddy shoes by the backdoor and Lego on the bedroom floor?

Sudocrem knows that the parenting you see online and in social media may not be as perfect as it seems and we all need to celebrate the imperfect moments and be comfortable with that too. There is so much pressure on parents to be living their perfect lives – especially on social media – that we need to take a moment to show that, actually, this picture of perfection isn’t always real life. And, our vision of perfect often includes those grubby faces, wet socks, gappy smiles and homemade birthday cakes.

Our life isn’t always picture perfect and we don’t go a day without someone getting annoyed, something getting broken, someone crying or just feeling a bit meh. That’s life and, even with those imperfections, life is pretty perfect to me.
