Siblings {May 2015}

I thought I might be a bit late with this month’s post as we’ve been in Wales this week but I’ve just managed to transfer my photos across and pick ones for the post. These have all been taken this week and really sum up the relationship that LP and Little Man have at the moment.

He follows her everywhere and copies her constantly. If she wants to play with something, he will immediately want it too. If she wants a certain snack he will want the same one. If she wants a drink he will need one straight after. He just wants to be like his big sister and takes her lead in everything that he does.

LP loves her Little Brother and if he’s upset she gives him a kiss and a cuddle without prompting. If he falls down she’ll ask if he’s ok and generally she looks out for him – although sometimes she still finds it hard to share and think about him too, she is only three after all.

LP and Little Man are both happier when they’re together. LP notices when Little Man isn’t around and will constantly comment that he’s having his nap or doing something with Daddy or wherever he may be. She is also always aware of what he is doing – commenting on him watching TV, playing with a certain toy, reading a book or anything else.

LP also has names for her brother – she calls him ‘My brother’, ‘Mister’, ‘Little Man’ or ‘Troy-boy’ – our affectionate nickname for him. Little Man is just learning to say sister and makes the same sounds each time he tries to say LP’s name, he hasn’t quite mastered it but when he’s referring to his sister we completely understand him.

This has been a month full of LP and Little Man having time together. They have been on adventures, played and even celebrated Little Man’s birthday together. It has been a lovely month and I can’t wait for the summer holidays when they’ll have so much more time like this together.
