Park Days {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

This last month has felt a little bit like being in limbo. We’ve been getting the house back together after the loft conversion, getting ready for Christmas and sticking to the confines of lockdown. But, we didn’t make time to actually go out in the fresh air at all until last weekend.

After a few weekends spent pretty much at home I felt like we could all do with a few hours outside and so we went to a local country park, with a really nice play area, to ‘blow the cobwebs away’.

We were probably only out for three hours and it was so cold compared to the last time we went for a walk. But, the children loved it and I know I need to make more of an effort to venture outside over the winter.

It was much busier than I expected, with so many people having the same idea. The car parks were overflowing and the play area was really busy. But, despite that, we had a nice time, stayed away from people where we could and moved the children around the play equipment so they could avoid the majority of the other people.

It’s nice that we can still go out and enjoy the local area, but so strange how normal it’s become to steer clear of people and keep a distance. I am starting to wonder whether life will ever feel normal again.

But for now we are just taking each day as it comes, enjoying time together and trying not to worry too much. The children are happy, we’re healthy and we’re safe. That really is all that matters.

The Ordinary Moments

If you have an ordinary moment this week, come and link up – I’m looking forward to reading the moments that you share and will comment and share them on Twitter through the course of the week. Thanks so much for taking part.
