Movie Nights {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

Movie Nights {The Ordinary Moments}

We’ve started a bit of a traditional recently where every few weeks, on a Friday, we’ll go to the movies after school. We usually pick something to see that we saw a trailer of the previous time and it’s always a highlight of the children’s week. Plus, we use our Nectar points that we collect with our grocery shopping to save money on the tickets too – it’s a win win.

Over the last couple of months we’ve seen so many films and it’s made me really love the cinema again. LP and Little Man happily sit through movies and we always take popcorn and sweets as well. It’s a real treat for the whole family and something I am so glad we’ve started doing recently. Before this, we would only go to the weekend morning cinema but as we’re away a lot at the weekend we didn’t go often at all – that has definitely all changed now.

We’ll go and grab a McDonalds before or after the movie and it’s a night when we’ll skip bath time too – it’s all about watching a movie together. I’ve found that the cinema is one place where I really switch off and, as I physically can’t do anything else, I immerse myself in the movie. It may only be 90 minutes or so but it’s lovely to sit next to the children and do nothing but watch a movie with them and I really would do it as often as possible. It’s turned into such a lovely tradition and one I hope we do for years to come.

The Ordinary Moments

If you have an ordinary moment this week, come and link up – I’m looking forward to reading the moments that you share and will comment and share them on Twitter through the course of the week. Thanks so much for taking part.
