Tomorrow Little Man turns 6 months old. Half a year. Halfway to being one.
I honestly don’t know where this time has gone. It seems like yesterday that I gave birth to him, 16 days early in a birth pool in our lounge. Now, he is a solid little boy with smiles, laughter and an great personality!
LM still has regular wake ups through the night, feeds every few hours during the day and has started trying solid food – although this is very early days! Cucumber and bread sticks so far. I’ll have more to report on the food topic next month!
He has definitely started to get a lot more interactive – he’ll now roll onto his side to grab toys and is very much aware of what’s around him. He spends most of his time staring at his sister and watching her play but she will often give him cuddles unprompted and take toys over to him.
Little Man is very much the right size for his age – he’s filling out his 3-6 months clothes and 6-9 months are a little big still. He wears size 4 nappies (the same as his sister!) and he feels incredibly heavy – need to get him weighed soon! He’s very strong on his legs, will happily bounce for hours and put weight on his feet. He prefers standing to sitting and is definitely happiest in his walker or the door bouncer. I feel at the moment that he may miss out the sitting and crawling stage and go straight for cruising and walking!
The biggest thing this month is that LM now has 2 teeth. His front bottom two teeth came through in quick succession but I don’t think we’re going to have much of a let up from the teething hell – the teething symptoms are persisting and I’m sure there will be another tooth before we know it. It seems very early to me for him to be having teeth as I only have LP to compare him too but I know that some babies are born with teeth so maybe it isn’t early at all!
Six months already. Happy Half Birthday Little Man – you continue to light up our life every day and your love for your Sister is amazing to see.
