Home {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you haven’t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. It’s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life – or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically – anything goes. I’ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and there’s a badge at the bottom of the post if you’d like to add it to yours too.

So yesterday was a big day for us. We moved home after four weeks in a flat whilst our loft conversion was getting under way.

We spent the last few days working flat out to get the house ready – decorating, laying carpets, building flat pack and cleaning more than I have ever cleaned before.

There has been a constant workload but somehow we have got through it. The children have been patient, happily spending hours watching TV or playing on their tablets whilst Dave and I crack on.

We spent the whole of yesterday working on the house and at 5pm we were able to finally show the children their rooms – and they couldn’t have been happier.

But, the cherry on the cake yesterday was the cat coming home from her holiday. We’ve never been away from her for so long and it’s been so nice having her back with us again.

And, it was my birthday. It wasn’t how I would have planned my birthday but, this year nothing is going as planned. It was as lovely as it could have been given the circumstances – and I had so many well wishes, cards and gifts that made me feel so incredibly loved.

We’re home. The cat’s home. And, I’m a year older. Life is good.

  1. What a busy day, shame it had to be your birthday but it sounds like you were happy enough anyway. How exciting to be back home and to have the cat back. x

  2. Happy (belated) Birthday!
    It certainly sounds like a busy week but I can’t even imagine how wonderful you all feel to be back inside your own home.
