A Week in Devon {The Ordinary Moments}

Welcome back to another week of the Ordinary Moments. If you havenโ€™t joined in before this is a weekly linky that launches every Sunday morning and is open until midnight on the following Saturday. Itโ€™s a linky that celebrates any ordinary moments in your life โ€“ or the not so ordinary some weeks too. Basically โ€“ anything goes. Iโ€™ll be sharing and commenting on the posts that are linked up during the week and thereโ€™s a badge at the bottom of the post if youโ€™d like to add it to yours too.

A Week in Devon {The Ordinary Moments}

Last week we were in Devon for the second week of the Easter holidays. We were staying at Crealy Adventure Park in one of their glamping safari tents and it was our annual holiday with our best friends. The children love having time together – as do Sarah and I – and although the weather forecast wasn’t the best we were really looking forward to a few days away with the best company.

Our safari tent at Crealy was a great base for the holiday – even if we did have to walk to a toilet block with the children a million times a day. It was as close to camping as the children have ever been and they loved sleeping under canvas, having more basic food and hearing the weather right above them.

Crealy was great fun – with playing, rides and just so much to do. Plus, because the weather was a bit iffy at the start of the week the park was so quiet. We didn’t have to queue much at all and the children had a great time.

But, on Wednesday Little Man had chicken pox! I had to go to the supermarket to get pox cream and we then couldn’t be in the resort as needed to keep him away from confined spaces with other people. So we headed to the seaside and spent our last Devon day on Brixham seafront which was beautiful and definitely somewhere I would go again.

On Friday it was time to pack up and head home but, despite the pox, we all had a lovely week. We didn’t get much sleep – due to the weather and the pox – but we came home tired but happy. It was a lovely week with our favourite people and we’re already looking forward to a trip next year – hopefully one where Little Man isn’t poorly for half of it!
