LP’s ‘Dribble Dog’ {The Ordinary Moments}

I have mentioned briefly on Twitter and Instagram LP’s smallest friend, her Dribble Dog.

LP received Dribble Dog for her first Christmas from her Uncle Trevor. She loved him immediately and would suck his ears until they’d drip – We started calling him Dribble Dog as he was always soggy and the name stuck. LP would always go back to Dribble Dog every few months, giving him cuddles and playing with him.

This love of Dribble Dog stepped up a notch recently. Dribble Dog started sleeping in LP’s bed – She’s never taken a toy to bed before. He also had to join us for meals and would sit in a spare chair whilst we ate. Dribble Dog also comes out with us, in the car, to people’s houses and on day trips. LP loves Dribble Dog to be close at hand and if he isn’t she gets very, very upset!

Dave and I have been known to make up stories to make LP happy when we’ve left Dribble Dog at home or can’t find him immediately – He’s keeping the house warm for us, He’s having a sleep, He’s having a little holiday, He didn’t want to miss his favourite TV program….! Eventually with a little story LP forgets about her Dribble Dog until the minute she sees him again.

‘THERE HE IS!!’ She shouts, beaming with a huge smile and grabbing him, squishing him into her neck and hugging him tight.

One little girl and her smallest love.

  1. What a cute post. There’s something so special about chewed-up and cuddle-squished toys. M has a very similar dog and a couple of big bears. Recently he’s started going up to them and giving them big hugs, it’s amazing to watch!

  2. I juts left a comment but not sure it worked or if in moderation but basically F is the same, obsessed with one comforter he has. I never take it out the house though, too scared i will lose it. I have bought a replacement just in case but his is so worn and loved now that it would never work.
    Cute pics, and so sweet you make up stories about him x
